Community Radio
Community radio is a non profiting station and they are based
in small communities for their own purposes. They cover a samll geographical
area and cover up to 5km. They can aim their station to a particular age group,
ethinic group or just the small community as a whole. The programmes the radio
station broadcast must attend to the needs and interests of the community as
they are the audience.
Reprezent
What are they trying to achieve? What is their remit
and purpose? How do they contribute to the local community? What opportunities
do they provide?
Hospital Radio
Hospital radio is only available in the actual hospital
building itself. They do not need a licence to broadcast because it is only in
the hospital building. The station doesn’t have a frequency its just hardwired
to the hospital so people can hear it on their wards, in the waiting rooms and
sometimes through the TV is it’s connected. Volunteers might be hosting the
radio, deciding what music to put on, send get well messages and play requests.
Having a playlist wouldn’t be ideal because the listeners wouldn’t be able to
connect with it like it would if there was an actual host asking for opinions
on something or maybe just getting to call in with their song requests.
Student Radio
Student radio is run by the students themselves and is
entirely up to them because they don’t need to have a licence to broadcast
online. Some Student radio stations like Spark and GU2 Radio actually have a
restricted service licence (RSL) because they don’t need to broadcast so far as
they have online aswell.

Didn't know where to put this comment - you haven't uploaded any work for AO5. That needs to be done as a priority - without it you can't get a grade for the unit
ReplyDeleteI have made lots of comments on the different pages of the blog - at the moment you are very close to a merit, but you need to make the recommended changes so that is spot on and meets the criteria fully.
Any questions, just ask.
So you know, this unit needs to be sent off, so it has to be 100% right. And done by half-term.
